the Rev Otis Moon

by Bruce Buckner

In Sept 1962 , my previous college roommate taught my new one (my little brother) to play the guitar. That is, he taught him enough to strum along with Green Onions and the Theme from Peter Gunn. The Folk Music business was in its infancy as he continued to learn more and more by listening and doing. When Dylan arrived, Otis found a mentor. This Fine Arts (Theatre and Graphic) Major discovered yet another force in his life. Over the next few years he would work as an actor, a set designer, a writer and producer of musicals, a fine guitarist and pianist (etc), a great singer/song writer, a novelist and short story writer, a playwright, an inventor , (unlicensed) engineer and architect, furniture and interior designer and portrait artist. He supports these costly hobbies by being a Design/ Builder and out working two guys half his age.

Now in his early 60's, and having recently had a health scare, he believes it prudent to finally let his arts pay him back for all the years he gave to them with little or no compensation.
